Islamabad - The management of Capital Development Authority has ordered the concerned formations of CDA to take strict action in collaboration with capital administration and police and shift cattle market to its designated area in sector I-12/2.

The CDA management took serious notice of delay in shifting of sacrificial animals market from sector I-11 to sector I-12/2. These directions were passed during a meeting held in this regard which was attended by the director general (administration), director municipal administration, director enforcement, director security, officers of Islamabad capital administration, Islamabad police and other senior officers, CDA officials said yesterday.

The meeting discussed the issue at length and decided the CDA will remove illegal cattle market from I-11 in light of the orders of Islamabad High Court. The CDA enforcement and environment teams would carry out operation with the support of ICT administration and Islamabad police.

It was decided that illegal sale of cattle in I-11 must be stopped and animals be shifted to I-12/2. The meeting decided to close all entry points of I-11 so that movement of the animals and fodder could be restrained. The concerned were directed to discontinue illegal water supply to the illegal cattle market and all formations of the CDA will provide additional facilities to DMA and enforcement directorate to carryout operation successfully and for smooth functioning of cattle market in sector I-12/2. The meeting was briefed that cattle market established at sector I-12/2 has been providing all facilities including dispensary, water supply, light and other allied facilities to the traders.

Meanwhile, the chairman CDA has directed the security directorate to carry out patrolling in the entire city and enforcement staff be deputed at entry points along with Islamabad police to monitor animals’ entry in Islamabad. He directed that no overcharging would be allowed and DMA will maintain proper record of the receipts of cattle market. He also appealed to the resident to discourage the purchase of sacrificial animals from illegally established cattle market.
