KARACHI - Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqqiqi Chairman Afaq Ahmed has said that existence of no-go areas in Karachi were the major cause of violence in the City.

In a statement here on Monday, Afaq said that for a long time the City was witnessing the uncontrollable violence and there is no doubt about the existence of the no-go areas in Karachi.

He further said that authorities seem helpless while the major cause of violence in the City were the no-go areas.

Afaq said that for a long period terrorists of a specific political group were governing the various localities of the City by force, troubling the masses with their unfair activities.

He demanded of the government to disclose the affiliation of killers of the journalist Wali Khan Babar. 

He said that since 2013 the government with tall claims failed to implement the Supreme Court order for the rehabilitation of the Muhajir community, those have remained dispersed from their homes for years.   

He asked Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Mian Nawaz Sharif to take notice of dispersed Muhajir families.
