LAHORE - The city received scattered rains yesterday, making weather pleasant by causing considerable decrease in the mercury level. Strong winds started blowing at night that followed by scattered showers. Windstorm caused tripping of more than 30 feeders of Lesco, plunging portions of Lahore in darkness for hours.

Patches of clouds, gusty winds and rains providing relief to the people from hot weather. Maximum and minimum temperature was recorded 38 degree Celsius and 22C respectively. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded 17 per cent.

According to the experts, westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist till Friday (today).

Local meteorological department has forecast partly cloudy weather with chances of scattered rains, gusty winds for Lahore today (Friday). Rain-thunderstorm with gusty winds is expected at scattered places in Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan, Sargodha, Rawalpindi divisions Islamabad, FATA, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan and at isolated places in Kohat, Multan, Faisalabad, Lahore, Gujranwala divisions. Dust raising winds / Gusty winds are also expected in Quetta, Bahawalpur, Mirpurkhas and Hyderabad divisions. Hot and dry weather is expected elsewhere in the country.
