The PML-N’s ticket holder is nephew of former prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani. He had contested the last general elections on the ticket of PPP for MNA in NA-94.

He formed the Independent Group in LG elections and won seats and became important for the PML-N to grab the chairman slot of District Council Toba Tek Singh. According to the sources, MNA Asadur Rehman promised someone else for District Council chairman. The sources said that the MNA played a major role in issuance of ticket to Syed Qutab Ali Shah.

Now, he got the ticket of PTI, but he is facing some serious opposition from former MNA and leader PTI Riaz Fatyana and group due to intra-party issues. Ali Raza’s daughters are also in the field and are contesting the election independently.
