LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri said Pakistan was being run like a private business, with rampant corruption eating into the country.

There are signs that the rulers are behind terrorism in Sindh and the federal government is in sync with Sindh, he said while talking to media at Lahore airport after flying from Canada in today’s wee hours. Similarly, there are signs that point to the ruling party for corruption at federal level, he noted.

“Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) are putting corruption under wraps,” he said adding the collusion between the ruling parties in Sindh and center is bringing about the economic devastation in the country.

This connivance is dealing a blow to the counter-terrorism operation of Pakistan's armed forces, he added. “We will continue fighting for the restoration of peace and justice in the country,” the PAT chief vowed.

Dr. Qadri said Pakistan’s armed forces are combating terrorism, but their efforts are being hampered with the help of conditions in Sindh.

Commenting on Model Town massacre, the PAT chief pointed out that he had no hope at all to get justice with regard to Model Town incident as the commission report on the carnage is being withheld.

“The responsible for the massacre in Model Town will be hanged,” Dr. Tahirul Qadri maintained promising to avenge assassination of each Model Town victim.

Commending the role of Rangers in Karachi peace, he also asked the paratroopers to do the same in Punjab too, saying, “At least 14 bodies and over 100 wounded (of Model Town tragedy) are awaiting Rangers in Punjab.”

It should be mentioned here that Dr. Tahirul Qadri will address the International Milad Conference at Minar-e-Pakistan, Lahore on the night of December 23.
