ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Navy cricket team met with Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral M Zakaullah at Naval Headquarters on Monday.

Zakaullah highly lauded Navy team’s performance as they won International Defence Cricket Challenge Cup (IDCC) 2015 held at Canberra, Australia.

Appreciating the efforts put in by the players, Zakaullah stressed upon bringing more laurels for Navy in general and Pakistan in particular. “Pakistani sportsmen are well capable to win championships in other sports discipline as well.”

The IDCC Cup was conducted on T20 and One-day league format. The T20 and One-day matches were played amongst the teams of defense forces of different countries. 10 teams from the World Defence Forces participated in the tournament; these teams included four from Australia, two from New Zealand, one each from UK, Fiji, Malaysia and Pakistan.

Navy team represented Pakistan Armed Forces in the championship and played four T20 and five One-day matches with various teams during the tournament. Navy team won all T20 and One-day matches.

The final one-day was played between Navy and Royal Malaysian Air Force teams at Munaka Oval Ground Canberra, Australia which Navy won after beating Royal Malaysian Air Force team convincingly.
