CPSP bags Socrates award for science, tech, medical edu

LAHORE (PR): College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan has been declared the best institution of the world in the field of science, technology and medical education. The Socrates Award 2015 was received by Prof Zaffar Ullah Chaudhry, President CPSP, in a ceremony held in Oxford UK. The ceremony was attended by renowned Scientists, technologists and institutions heads of higher medical educationists of the world. Ibn-e-Abbas, Pakistani High Commissioner to UK, congratulated CPSP fellows and the people of Pakistan on receiving award.

Prof Zaffar Ullah Chaudhry, President CPSP, Prof Khalid Masood Gondal, Senior Vice President CPSP, and Prof Aamir Zaman Khan, Director National Residency Program CPSP, had meeting with the President of Royal College of Surgeons London, Prof Clave Marx, President Of Royal College of Pediatrics Neena Modi, and President Royal College of Pathologists and exchanged views on matters of mutual interest. An MoU was also signed between CPSP and Royal College of Pathologists UK for the training of under training doctors for a specific period of time. According to the MoU, the fellows and trainee doctors will be sent to UK a specific period of time.

SBCA demolishes illegal buildings

KARACHI (PR): On the instructions of Sindh Building Control Authority acting director general Mumtaz Haider, SBCA demolition squad has taken action against illegal buildings located in different areas of the city and demolished and sealed them.

PAS elects new executive council

KARACHI (PR): Pakistan Advertisers Society (PAS) held its 18th annual general body meeting the other day in Karachi.

The AGM was attended by all the major advertisers of Pakistan. Some of the important industry issues were discussed and the agenda for 2015 was proposed to the members. It also marked the end of two year tenure of the current council and the office bearers. The elections for the new council for the term 2016-17 were also part of the proceedings.

The newly elected council comprises of 12 members. Aly Mustansir, CMO, Bank Alfalah was elected as the chairman of the Society. Amir Paracha, VP-Sales, Unilever Pakistan and Khurram Masood Koraishy, GM, Sales and Marketing, Tapal Tea were elected as vice chairman and general secretary respectively.
