The Gujranwala Electric Power Company (Gepco) has completed necessary work for sending the cases of more than 200 chronic defaulters to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for the recovery of the outstanding arrears amounting to millions of rupees since long.

According to senior Gepco officials, the files of the 200 chronic defaulters are ready to be sent to NAB and most likely to be sent to NAB in January 2016.

The Gepco senior officials added that these big defaulters belonging to Gujranwala Division’s all six Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad and Gujranwala districts. The defaulters are said to be politically influential and are reluctant to pay their outstanding dues despite repeatedly recovery notices issued by the Gepco in this regard.
