Islamabad - Khan Mohammed Khan, a local leader of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) yesterday congratulated his party candidates on landslide victory in the Rawalpindi district.

Khan, the vice President of Hamza Shahbaz Sharif Youth Pakistan, said the PML-N victory proved beyond doubts the people are satisfied with the performance of the government. He congratulated Sardar Naseem, Sajjad Khan, Sheikh Arshad, Malik Sabir, Haji Jameel, Haji Ilyas Lali and Malik Waseem on winning seats in the third phase of the local government elections.

In a statement, Khan claimed the independents are joining the PML-N giving it an even bigger victory margin in Punjab province. The PML-N leader said the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf has failed to resolve the issues of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said the PTI could not prove its rigging claims before the judicial commission which means they were mere allegations.

He said a non-governmental organisation Free and Fair Election Network thoroughly analyzed the election results and endorsed the results as accurate. Khan said the PTI should now accept its defeat in the general and LG elections.

Another PML-N activist Raja Safder Ali Mehmood also congratulated the winning candidates and hoped they will serve the people to the best of their abilities. He said the country is on the road to progress due to the vision of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. He criticised PTI’s politics of agitation.
