A PML-N group, seeking party ticket of district chairman’s slot for ex-MPA Sardar Masood Gadhi, has claimed that Mr Gadhi has been enjoying support of chairmen-elect of 50 union councils in the district.

In a meeting held here the other night, Toba MNA Junaid Anwaar Ch, three MPAs - Mian Muhammad Rafiq (Khikha), Col (r) Sardar Ayub Gadhi (Rajana) and Amjad Ali Javed (Toba) said that Gadhi is a senior politician and that he would be the best choice for the slot of district chairman.

It is to be noted that Gojra-based PML-N MNA Khalid Javed Warraich is also appeared to be a candidate for the slot and MNA Ch Asadur Rehman and MPAs - Qadir Awan and Nazia Raheel Gujjar are canvassing for him. This group also claims to have support of 57 elected UCs chairmen.

However, PML-N Supremo Mian Nawaz Sharif or Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif have not given the go-ahead to any of the candidates as party’s nominee.
