KARACHI (INP) - The Indian government without any allegation has kept five Pakistani nationals in Maharashtra prison who were freed by the Indian forces from the custody of Somali pirates in March. Sources said first the ill-fated Pakistanis were freed from the custody of Somali pirates by the Indian forces in March and then Indian Interior Ministry kept them in custody for sometime, later on, the Pakistanis were given the status of prisoners by the Indian government and were sent to Maharashtra prison. Mumbai Police said it had asked Pakistani Embassy officials to take its citizens to their country while Pakistani officials replied that Indian Interior Ministry did not allow the embassy officials to meet the detained Pakistanis. Indian Interior Ministry had decided to produce the detained Pakistanis in Tihar Jail on June 28.
