OUR STAFF REPORTER NOORPUR THAL - District Education Officer Malik Fazal Elahi Fazal said that the government would expand school councils scheme for the betterment of educational institutions. He said this while chairing a departmental meeting here at the Deputy DEO office the other day. He said that on the directions of the Punjab government, the Education Foundation will also expand its Education Voucher Scheme (EVS) to 14 education-wise backward districts where 15,000 deserving students will get free education. He said that the districts selected for the EVS scheme are Khushab, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur, Muzaffargarh, Vehari, Multan, Khanewal, Mianwali, Gujrat, Bhabhar, Gujranwala, Okara, Sialkot and Faisalabad. APBO strike today: All Pakistan Brick Kilns Owners Association has announced a three-day strike from Wednesday (today) in protest against the imposition of Sales Tax on bricks. APBO President Shoaib Khan told the media persons here the other day. He said that the rates of bricks were already very high and if GST was imposed bricks would go out of reach of the common man.
