LAHORE - Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khosa has said that Pakistan Peoples Party always fought against dictators and never bowed before them. Speaking on the eve of 58th birth anniversary of Benazir Bhutto at Governor House here on Tuesday, he said that Shaheed ZA Bhutto empowered people and steered them out of the demoralisation emanating from the crisis of 1971. This was Bhutto Shaheed who got freed 93,000 soldiers of the country from Indian jails, gave a unanimous Constitution of 1973, held the OIC summit in Lahore, started nuclear programme and a number of other landmark achievements for Pakistan, he said. Highlighting the achievements of the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, he said that in the second tenure of Benazir, Pakistan was surplus in electricity production with 19,500 megawatts against its requirement of 13,000 and the country was looking avenues to export electricity. Khosa suggested that a suo motu notice should be taken regarding these facts where the surplus electricity had gone.
