OUR STAFF REPORTER FAISALABAD - The workers and office-bearers of Wapda Pegham Union and Hydro Electric Union took out a protest rally here Tuesday against the government decision of withdraw free electric units facility from the lower scale Wapda employees. The activists were holding placards and banners bearing slogans against the government decision. They activists started their rally from Fesco Office on Canal Road and marched towards District Council Square where they staged a protest. They blocked University Road for two hours. They were chanting slogans demanding withdrawal of the decision and restoration of the free electricity units facility. On the occasion, heavy police contingent was also deployed to meet any eventuality. Meanwhile the office-bearers of Wapda Pegham Union and Hydro Electric Union threatened to launch a countrywide protest if the government did not take back the decision in 24 hours. They also warned to lock the Wapda Offices and disconnect electricity supply to the entire city if the facility was not restored forthwith. Later the activists dispersed peacefully.
