PESHAWAR - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly paid homage to JUI-F MPA Ziyad Akram Durran, who died here on Thursday, and also extended sympathies to the family of the diseased. 

Ziyad Akram Durrani, elder son of ex chief minister KPK Akram Khan Durrani, breathed his last here at hospital in Peshawar. Ziyad Akram Durrani had been an MPA from PK-70 Bannu-I. To condole and pay homage to services of the diseased, a condolence meeting of the KPK Assembly was held with Speaker Kiramatullah Khan in the chair.

The KPK Assembly was to discuss supplementary budget for 2012-13 and it was expected to be passed during the day’s proceedings. However, due to the death of its member Ziyad Akram Durrani, daily business of the assembly was suspended and the lawmakers paid homage to the deceased and condoled with his family.

On this occasion, JUI-F lawmaker Mufti Kifayatullah offered collective prayers for the departed soul of late MPA Ziyad Akram Durrani. He said that so far a total of seven lawmakers of the sitting assembly have lost their lives since February 2008. The death of young lawmaker Ziyad Akram Durrani is a great loss for his family and particularly for his father ex-chief minister Akram Khan Durrani.

KPK Information Minister Mian Iftikhar said that late Ziyad Akram Durrani was a kind person, who respected all and besides he was a good human being. He condoled the death of Ziyad Durrani. He said that all lawmakers of this august house are with his family and Opposition leader Akram Khan Durrani.

PPP’s lawmaker Anwar Khan said that with the death of young Ziyad Akram Khan, the house is fully with his family. He said that it’s a big lose for the family of Akram Khan Durrani. He extended sympathies to the bereaved family.  Senior Minister Bashir Ahmad Bilour said after the death of Ziyad Durrani, the family of Akram Khan Durrani is passing through a critical phase. He said that death has no calendar and in fact, one day, we all will have to die.

He saluted to Akram Khan Durrani for his courage that he showed on the death of his son late Ziyad Akram Khan, one of the youngest lawmaker of the KPK Assembly.

To pay homage to later Ziyad Akram Durrani, PPP’s Senior Minister Rahimdad Khan said late Durrani was a man of great character. He would be remembered by his colleagues for long time. He was a humble and kind human being. He said that they were the family of late Durrani and his bereaved family. Later, the speaker adjourned session till today (Friday) 5:00 pm.

Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Irrigation Department Thursday issued a report stating that Kabul River at Warsak and Nowshera were flowing in low flood, discharging 42630 and 55400 cusecs of water.

Similarly, he PanjkoraRiver at Dir, Swat River (Khiali) atCharsadda Road and Adezai River atAdezai Bridge were also flowing in low flood, discharging 14700, 26722 and 29800 cusecs of water respectively. The remaining Rivers of the province are flowing as normal.
