FAISALABAD - Chief Traffic Officer Sardar Muhammad Asif Khan led a walk organised by the city traffic police to raise awarnes and encourage citizens to abide by traffic rules.

A large people from all walks of life took part in the walk. On the occasion, CTO Asif directed his Traffic Wardens (TW) to show respect and behave politely with the commuters.

He stressed the need for polite language and behaviour. In the same breath, he requested the general public to not be in a hurry on the streets and obey the traffic laws and provide relevant documents on request. He also announced celebrating “Traffic Walk Week” soon and said that efforts would be made to impart education on traffic rules and regulations to the public to make the roads safe. He requested the vehicle owners to extend cooperation to the City Traffic Police.

Centre to compile data on population set up: A population information centre has been set up by the Population Welfare Department where complete data will be available regarding population growth, number on births, deaths and migration, said District Population officer Atif Ali while speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the centre, here the other day.

This centre contains published material, survey reports, assessment studies, training materials, wall charts and brochures related to population, family planning and mother and child health care while it will also provide information and data to researchers, teachers, scholars, media, students and policy makers.

DOC Ijaz Munir Bhuller, Health Project Director Dr Raja Nasar Iqbal, district environment officer Ms Fauzia Akram, Government College Rajana vice principal Syed Nasir Ali Shah and Nasir Bashir were also present.
