ISLAMABAD - Backing proposal to rename NWFP province as 'Pukhtoonkhwa, Federal Minister for Railways Ghulam Ahmed Bilour said that PML(N) should adopt clear stance on the renaming issue. ANP will be obliged to PML (N) Chief Nawaz Sharif if he agrees on Pukhtoonkhwa, he said while talking to the journalists. Three names are under consideration such as Pukhtoonkhwa, Pukhtoonis-tan and Afghania. Without mentioning any individual, he further said that the leadership of PML(N) had no reservations over renaming NWFP as 'Pukhtoonkhwa, however some of this party member were misguiding the leadership. Most of the MNAs of PML(N) are backing ANPs stance over the renaming issue. To a question about Kalabagh Dam, he was of the view that it would ultimately sink five districts of the province and bring a drought in Sindh. Punjab draws 12,000 cusecs water from the Sindh River from Jinnah Barrage, 21,000 cusecs water from the Chashma Barrage and 12,000 cusecs water from the Taunsa Barrage that irrigates around 4,500,000 acres of the land, he added. While calling NWFP as Pukhtoonkhwa, he said that it contributed 21,000 cusecs water at the Khairabad point in Indus River but since last 63 years, it received even less than half of its share in Dera Ismail Khan. When asked about Punjab Chief Ministers recent statement, the Minister said that he did not think that Shahbaz Sharif could give a statement asking Taliban to spare Punjab province from suicide attacks. He also rushed to remarks that if he did so, he would oppose it. To a question about the Ministry, he said that he decreased five-percent fares despite increase in the fuel prices. There is shortage of locomotives, he said adding that the Railways was neglected in each political tenure. He said many of the locomotives are out of order.
