LAHORE - PML-N ministers are less likely to attend the award distribution ceremony at the Governors House to be held on March 23 in connection with the Pakistan Day. An award distribution ceremony will be held at the Governors House on March 23 in which awards will be given to various segments of the society for distinctions in their respective fields and invitations have been extended to the PML-N ministers to attend the ceremony. When contacted Dr Asad Ashraf, Chairman Health Task Force Punjab said that the PML-N would not attend the prize giving ceremony. When asked whether a decision in this regard has been taken, he said that the PML-N made a policy regarding attending the functions of the Governor Punjab and it was likely the PML-N following the said policy would not attend the ceremony at the Governors House. He said that invitations from the Governors House were extended to the PML-N ministers and parliamentarians in the past but owing to the partisan behaviour of the Governor the PML-N had decided not to attend the functions of the Governor House. The PML-N leader said that position of a governor was supposed to be neutral but the incumbent Governor of Punjab did not fulfil this criterion. Another leader of PML-N, Pervez Malik when contacted in this regard said that it was highly unlikely that PML-N ministers would attend the award ceremony at the Governors House, as Salmaan Taseer did not 'fit in the criteria of the Governor. Taseer possesses an 'ungovernor-like attitude and the PML-N will definitely attend the functions of Governor House if there was a bi-partisan Governor in the province, he remarked.
