LAHORE - A man was killed while another injured when cross-firing took place between two cousins at Mehmood Booti Road in Baghbanpura police jurisdiction on Sunday. Police said that Amanat Ali and his cousin Shahid, residents of Shalimar Town, were running a rickshaw stand together. A couple of days ago they terminated their partnership after a spat over some monetary issue. However, Shahid with his friends Khushi Muhammad and Mansha came to the residence of Amanat for reconciliation, but both the cousins had a row again. As a result cross-firing took place which left Amanat dead while another person received bullet injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital where his condition was stated to be stable. Residents of the area informed the police which reached the spot and registered a case against the accused on the complaint of Abdul Rasheed, father of Amanat, and started investigation. Electrocuted An unidentified man was electrocuted in Lorry Adda police precincts on Sunday. According to police, a 40-year-old unidentified person scaled an electric pole at Sabzimandi near General Bus Stand and refused to come down when some locals cautioned him. He received electric shocks and died on the spot. Police have sent the body to mortuary and are searching for the family of the deceased. Driver dies in accident A truck driver was killed when his vehicle collided with a trolley on GT Road in Shahdra Town police precincts on Sunday. Police said that Arshad (50), resident of Daska, was on his way to Lahore when he suddenly went at snooze and his truck collided with a trolley. He died on the spot. Seminar A seminar on conservation of fish bio-diversity will be held at Chashma Barrage on March 24. Director General Fisheries Dr Muhammad Ayub said here Sunday that this seminar would provide necessary information to enhance production of various species of fish. Secretary Forest, Wildlife and Fisheries will be chief guest on the occasion.
