QUETTA - Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Syed Naveed Qamar has said that people of Balochistan were the real owners of their resources. People of Balochistan should play their role in the development of the country by protecting the national installations, he added. He expressed these views while addressing the groundbreaking ceremony of Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) Hospital and distributing ownership rights certificates to the employees of PPL in Sui on Sunday. He said that incumbent government was making all-out efforts to heel the wounds of people of Balochistan inflicted by previous governments and asked the PPL employees to work hard for the development of company after attaining ownership right in it. Federal Minister said President Asif Ali Zardari was forwarding the vision of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and would leave no stone unturned to complete her mission. He said that because of Sui gas the country had made rapid development but unfortunately the people of this area could not be benefited from it. He, however, announced that gas would be provided to the people of Sui and the hospital would be constructed within 18 months. Later on, talking to newsmen, he said that with the collaboration of army the law and order situation was improving in Sui and work on exploration of oil and gas in this area would be expedited. He said that there would be no cut in provision of gas to Karachi Electric Supply Company. Naveed Qamar said that Sui was the asset of Pakistan and added that steps were on to develop Pir Koh and Uch Gas fields so that energy crisis could be overcome. He said that decade long woes of people of Balochistan would take time to be addressed and assured that soon the people of this province would get the fruits of Aghaz-e-Haqooq Balochistan Package.
