LAHORE Justice Umar Ata Bandial on Monday directed the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) and the police department to allow the serving police constables appearance in the examination for the 750 vacancies of Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) in different police regions of Punjab. The judge passed the order on the identical petitions of over 30 in-service police constables against Home Dept, Police dept and Public Service Commission disputing upper age limit of 25 years set for the examination and no age relaxation to the serving cops. The petitions were filed by constables M Umer and others submitting that the 25 years age limit for the examination is not suitable for the in service constables who are between 30 to 35 years of age.
