LAHORE The medics have refused to call off strike without taking assurance from the Punjab Chief Minister regarding substantial increase in their salary package. Addressing a press conference here on Monday, President Young Doctors Association Punjab Dr Hamid Butt welcomed promise from the Health Department regarding raise in salary package in the coming budget, saying the medics would not accept Rs 10,000 to Rs 15000 increase. He vowed to continue strike at OPDs till meeting with the Chief Minister and getting assurance of substantial raise in salaries of medics. He said that the medics would continue strike at OPDs till issuance of notification regarding new salary package. Hamid Butt expressed hope of getting good results from the negotiations with health department.
