ISLAMABAD - PML-N President Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that his party will strengthen the economy and will end the energy crisis from the country, if voted to power.

Briefing the European envoys on party’s manifesto for the forthcoming elections here on Thursday‚ he said his party will ensure supremacy of the law‚ respect for democratic institutions‚ and zero tolerance for extremism and militancy.

He said his party will pursue a policy of normalisation with countries whom we have differences and work to resolve all issues through peaceful negotiations.

He called upon the European Ambassadors to help enhance investment in Pakistan‚ as this will not only strengthen the country’s economy‚ but its domestic institutions as well.

APP adds: Nawaz Sharif also informed the envoys that the PML-N was committed to a thorough and comprehensive review of our national security and foreign policy, to bring it in consonance with the hopes and aspirations of the people.  He also emphasised that political ties with foreign countries would be reinforced by economic and commercial linkages.

In this context, he called upon the European Ambassadors to assist in promoting trade and investment in Pakistan, as this would not only strengthen the country’s economy, but its domestic institutions as well.

Nawaz was accompanied by Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Senator Ishaq Dar. In his welcoming remarks‚ the German Ambassador‚ Dr. Cyrill Nunn said the European countries view Pakistan as an important country‚ located in a highly sensitive region.  He said it is a matter of great satisfaction to see democracy and the rule of law being strengthened in the country.
