LAHORE –College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan President Prof Zafar Ullah Chaudhry has said that the institution has launched fellowship in surgical oncology and more programmes would be started in different surgical specialties soon.

Addressing inaugural session of biennial international conference organised by Society of Surgeons Pakistan on Thursday, he said that CPSP has made international ATLS and ACLS courses mandatory for under training doctors to enable them to provide better healthcare services.

President SAARC Surgical Care Society Prof Abdul Majeed Chaudhry said that the surgeons in the region would prepare guidelines for the region since their problems were common.

President Society of Surgeons Pakistan Prof Aamer Zaman Khan gave details of conference and welcomed the foreign and local participants.

President Society of Surgeons Pakistan (Center) Prof Abdul Sattar Memon gave away gold medal to the newly elected President Prof. Khalid Masood Gondal.

Memon said that in future special attention would be given to surgical education, training, telemedicine and robotic surgery.

Vice President Society of Surgeons Pakistan Prof Ghulam Mustafa Arain and Principal of DG Khan Medical College thanked the participants and the chief guest distributed souvenirs amongst the office bearers.
