LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President and former Prime Minister Ch Shujaat Hussain has said that MQM is not a terrorist party

Addressing a press conference at his residence here Monday, he said that MQM leaders worked for their personal interests or at foreign instances which have mostly finished, Rangers and army jawans can be sent for defending the frontiers any time.

He said that Mustafa Kamal should pinpoint terrorist elements in the present MQM if MQM was a terrorist party then it would not have bagged so much votes in Karachi.

To a question regarding Mustafa Kamal, he said that he will show "kamal" as well "jamal" also. 

Talking about banning 300 madaris calling Tableeghi Jamaat Raiwind as terrorist is wrong and improper, if couple of people enter in the gathering of lakhs does not mean that the entire organization be blamed.

Ch Shujaat Hussain further said convening of a joint session of the parliament over Pervez Musharraf's leaving the country is sheer wastage of national exchequer, is this session is to be convened then it should be called about increasing price hike, unemployment and lawless in the country.

To a question, Ch Shujaat said that blaming the Rangers tantamount to accusing the army, cricket team lost to India under law of necessity.

About NAB Punjab people say the house has been set on fire by own lamp, abolishing the institutions is not the solution of the problem and PIA should also be put right.

Ch Shujaat Hussain said that opposition's grand alliance will be formed only when the number of candidates for the prime minister-ship comes down, Asif Zardari will also return. He said further that the government and the opposition have no interest in the peoples’ problems, the parliament should do real work of paying attention to the problems of the people.
