PML-N central leader Hamza Shahbaz yesterday claimed that PTI chief Imran Khan is in the habit of ‘telling lies’ and levelling rigging and corruption charges which the worthy courts had rejected.

“Those who attempted to become leader by ‘staging container show’ had gained nothing and now the masses are well-aware to foil their conspiracy against the government.”

PML-N MNA Hamza Shahbaz was addressing a huge gathering at MC High School ground in connection with election campaign for Iftikhar Ahmad Cheema, the PML-N candidate for NA-101 by-election here on Monday.

Hamza Shahbaz pointed out that the government inherited energy crisis from the previous PPP. However, the PML-N government under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif has adopted a multi-pronged strategy due to which the loadshedding would be overcome by the end of 2018, he added.

Taking a jibe at Imran Khan, the PML-N stalwart declared that no one can be leader by talking and sitting on containers. “Corruption charge against Sharifs even could not be proved by the NAB chairman of Pervez Musharraf regime while rigging claims have been rejected by three worthy courts,” he pointed out.

Hamza Shahbaz claimed that the PTI chief had made all-out efforts to topple the PML-N government but people buried his conspiracy.

He stated that big claims do not make one a big leader rather to be a big leader, one has to go even behind the bars and Adiala jail. “Imran Khan did not go even to police station as he (Khan) merely loves rhetoric,” the PML-N said.

“The entire nation is witnessed to the fact that so far all claims of the PTI chief have been proved wrong and baseless,” he recalled, adding that Khan’s leg-pulling policy against PM Nawaz Sharif is tantamount to pulling the leg of Pakistan but the nation drowned him in sea.

“Nawaz Sharif wants to transform Pakistan into the vision of founder of the nation Quaid-e-Azam and revolutionary steps have been undertaken to make Pakistan stand in the comity of nations with pride and dignity,” Hamza Shahbaz claimed.

He said that energy crisis would certainly end by the end of 2018 which would help give impetus to Pakistan’s journey on the path to development and prosperity. “I will definitely not mention the Wazirabad Institute of Cardiology because I will come again when it will become functional and I can say we will construct a Sports Stadium in Alipur Chattha as well like the Wazirabad Stadium,” he promised.

Earlier, PML-N candidate for by-election Iftikhar Ahmad Cheema, MPA Shaukat Manzoor Cheema, MPA Akmal Saif Chattha, Shah Nawaz Cheema, Nawazish Ali Cheema and Johar Sarwar Cheema also addressed the public meeting.
