In an appreciative step recently taken by our law enforcement agencies under National Action Plan (NAP), some 30 seminaries have been closed and been placed in the “suspect” list. National Action Plan which started in the wake of deadly Peshawar attack is promisingly marching ahead on its way to purge our country of all types of terrorism and extremism. Militants, economic terrorists and corrupt elements in state machinery are already under strict watch and exacting active grip of our valiant law enforcement agencies. And now action for registration and streamlining of seminaries is really commendable. Religious seminaries are doing a service to people but it is also a fact that many unwanted elements are working in this garb for their own vested anti-state agendas. So purging of such elements will truly establish seminaries as welfare and educative outlets.
