SHEIKHUPURA - Six seriously ill prisoners, languishing in district jail Sheikhupura, could not be taken for medical examination due to unavailability of police guard for the last several days.

According to details, the Anti-Terrorist Court number-4 Lahore, the District and Sessions Court Sheikhupura and the Ferozewala court have already issued directions to the jail authorities for the arranging medical check-up of the six seriously ill prisoners including Mohsan Ashraf, Afzal Ikram, Shahzad Siddique, M Ali, Attiqur Rehman and M Siddique. However, due to unavailability of the police escort which has to be provided by the district police these prisoners have been waiting for the medical check-up. Reportedly, the jail authorities have intimated the district police and the courts concerned in this regard.

Meanwhile, when contacted the district police spokesperson said that the police personnel had been provided to escort the sick prisoners to hospital for medical examination in the light of the courts orders.

CAR STOLEN: Unknown thieves took away a car parked in main bazaar Khanqah Dogran, owned by one Nadeem Abbas. He parked the car and went to a shop to buy some daily-use items. However, on return found the car missing. The police have started investigation.
