LAHORE – Two women were found murdered after rape in the City, police said on Saturday. A 30-year-old woman was found butchered in her two-room apartment in the Shalimar police limits on early Saturday. Asma Bibi, mother of three, was residing in the residential quarter in Old Bhogiwal locality on rent since her husband had been imprisoned in a narcotics case. Her sister Saima Bibi told the police that Irfan, a drug-pusher and proclaimed offender, slaughtered Asma over a monetary dispute.

The complainant told the investigators that Irfan came alone with his two accomplices.

Investigators the killer rapped her before cutting her jugular vein with a sharp-edge weapon.

Shalimar SHO Naveed Azam confirmed that the woman’s husband was imprisoned in a drugs case while she was living at the house along with her three children – two daughters and one son.The police removed the body to the morgue and are investigating with no arrest made so far.

In another incident, a 30-year-old unidentified woman was found murdered alongside Shaukat Khan Road in the Sattukatla police limits. The police have removed the body to morgue for autopsy.

Investigators suspect that unidentified killers raped and tortured the woman to death somewhere else but fled away after throwing her dead body in the locality. A passerby spotted the body and contacted the police by phone. The body bore several torture marks, police said. However, a police official claimed that the deceased woman was a drug addict and died from overdose.

Suicide: A woman committed suicide by swallowing poisonous pills at her house located in Maryam Colony in the limits of Green Town police. Shama Bibi, who had contracted second marriage with one Irfan, took poisonous pills when her husband was at his workplace.

 Police said that two children of the deceased were present there when the woman confined herself in the room and took the pills. The reasons which compelled the mother of two to commit self-murder are yet to be ascertained. But a police official claimed that she had committed suicide because of poverty.
