LAKKI MARWAT – The local officials of Pesco have failed to eliminate the menace of electricity stealth and improve recoveries from power defaulters, said a local Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Ahmad Nawaz on Saturday.

Talking to reporters at his residence, he alleged that power theft was on rise in the district especially in rural localities with connivance of local employees of power supply company. He said that local quarters concerned of Pesco were not serious to curb the menace and improve power supply system.

“Instead of launching stern action against electricity stealers the authorities have put the urban and rural localities under the severe grip of load shedding to conceal their failure and incapability”, he maintained.

The PTI leader told that to bear the brunt of prolong power outages had become intolerable for local people. He said that despite paying electricity bills on time and regularly the residents of Lakki City had been subjected to face long power breakdowns since last several weeks.

He said that Pesco’s higher authorities should form special teams to eliminate the practice of using electricity facility through notorious kunda (hook) system. He also demanded of higher authorities to direct local quarters concerned to stop unscheduled and unfair load shedding in Lakki city forthwith.
