LAHORE – Tehrik Minhajul Quran (TMQ) Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri will make public his national agenda on Sunday (today) at Minar-e-Pakistan during a meeting. His supporters have already gathered at the venue.

The TMQ chairman, who says the current electoral system sends capitalists and feudal to the parliament, vowed to wage war for public rights.  All arrangements had been finalised for the today’s meeting.

A spokesman for the TMQ said tents had been installed for the lodging of the participants while arrangements for their food and other needs had also been made on Saturday.  He said 10,000 party volunteers will join the lawmen to ensure security. The TMQ has constituted more than 100 committees to organise the programme in which Dr Qadri will announce his much-awaited national agenda. For the sitting arrangements, no chairs were put in the venue and the participants would sit on the carpets, while the chairs were only arranged for the stage. Party flags, banners and poster have been erected around the venue.

Banners, posters and flexes were also seen on all the important roads of the City bearing the pictures of Dr Qadri and TMQ’s programme at Minar-e-Pakistan.

The TMQ has extended invitations to all the parties, besides student organizations and NGOs. When contacted, TMQ Secretary General Dr Raheeq Abbasi said that the PPP, MQM, Mili Yakjehti Council, Tehrik Wahdat-i-Islami and Tehrik-i-Jafferia have confirmed that their delegates would participate in the TMQ show, while he expects delegates from other political and religious parties also.  He added that around 300 Mashaikhs along with their followers would also participate in their programme. TMQ expects participation of 2.5 million people in their show, which includes people from all walks of life, besides the political and religious parties.
