KARACHI - Tension prevailed the City’s downtown where two Pukhtoon groups collided over the dispute of pushcarts which claimed three lives. According to details, some unidentified gunmen on a car sprayed bullets and left Ramzan Kakar dead near Empress Market, Saddar. Kakar was the brother of Bari Kakar, president District South, Awami National Party.

Police said that Kakar’s supporters also resorted to firing in retaliation. During exchange of fire, one of the attacker namely Abdul Rehman sustained bullets wounds along with Imdad and two police personnel. Victims of the firing including Abdul Rehman, Imdad and others were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where Imdad, a passerby, succumbed to injuries during treatment. Police said that attackers affiliated with Rival Pukthoon political party were taken Abdul Rehman to hospital where companions of Kakar also reached and targeted Abdul Rehman in the emergency ward of the hospital.  Rangers and police reached the spot and managed to arrest one of the gunman namely Saddam. Police sources said that there was a dispute between the ANP and Pukhtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party over the extortion money and fixing of pushcarts in Saddar area.

Police have registered an FIR against the attacker against the rival group while police did not register the FIR against the ANP activist Abdul Rehman who was killed within the premises of the JPMC.

Police got the CCTV footages of the hospital incident where it is visible that activists tortured and killed Rehman before the personnel of law-enforcement agencies without any fear of apprehension.
