LAHORE – Low pressure of gas and unannounced loadshedding are hitting hard on the domestic sector of big cities of Punjab and especially of Lahore.

The Sngpl though has not resumed gas supply to industry for since a week, households were not getting proper pressure for cooking foods and for other needs.

The company officials say that due to severe cold, the gap between demand and supply of gas was increasing and that they were unable to maintain supply to all sectors.

On the other hand, the electricity load shedding duration was crossing eight hours in urban areas while around 10 hours shutdown was being conducted in rural limits of the country. Despite the Lesco’s claim that domestic sector was at priority regarding electricity supply, the City was under a grip of unannounced blackouts with consecutive power cuts of two to three hours in different areas. The national grid is facing around 5000MW shortfall.
