LAHORE - Professional Group candidate Shafqat Mahmood Chohan won Lahore High Court Bar Association’s election Presidential slot, defeating Chaudhry Muhammad Naeem.

 As per unofficial results, Chohan was leading with heavy margin against his opponent candidate. For the slot Vice President, Amir Jaleel Saddiqui was also leading against his opponent Muhammad Irfan Arif.

Chohan was making third attempt to notch up the slot as he contested last two elections as an independent candidate.

He was enjoying support of Arain and Rajpoot clans besides political wings of PML-N and ex -governor Latif Khosa. Coalition of Mian Israrul Haq, a main representative of Arain clan in the bar politics, with Professional group helped Chohan win the election.  Earlier, Asma Jhangir’s group levelled allegations of rigging in the bar elections as the election committee had caught three fake voters.
