WASHINGTON- US President Barack Obama today said that safe havens for militants within Pakistan were not acceptable.

"Safe havens within Pakistan are not acceptable. Those behind the Mumbai terrorist attack must face justice. Like people around the world, Indians and Americans were horrified at the senseless slaughter of so many students and teachers at the school in Peshawar,” Obama said in an interview to India Today.

Indians and Americans are united against militancy, he added.

He said America is leading the international coalition to destroy ISIS. “We're working with many nations to prevent foreign militants from crossing borders,” he said.

Those taking lives in the name of religion are betraying their own faith, he stated.

The United States will keep working with partners around the world for greater security and prosperity, he concluded.
