PESHAWAR - The Apex Committee of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa met under chairmanship of Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan at the Governor House, Peshawar on Thursday and reviewed the overall law and order situation and discussed measures to materialise the National Action Plan.

Provincial Chief Minister Parvez Khattak, Corps Commander 11-Corps Left. Gen. Hidayat ur Rehman, Chief Secretary Amjad Ali Khan, IG Frontier Corps Maj. Gen Tayyab Azam and IGP Nasir Khan Durrani were present.

The heads of other law enforcement agencies also attended the meeting. Provincial Minister for Health Shahram Khan Tarakai attended the meeting on a special invitation. Prevailing state of implementation process on the National Action Plan, a national level consensus based document especially came under discussion and measures were agreed upon to further streamline the coordination arrangements at the respective levels. Meeting was also briefed on the special measures to make the ongoing polio eradication campaign a success and it was observed that no efforts will being spared to get the coming generations fully protected from the fatal disease.

Earlier, the governor while welcoming the members of the Apex Committee said, "we as a nation are at war against terrorism and will never sit at ease till its complete eradication. The entire nation, the governor said, staunchly stands along the courageous and brave armed forces and the other law enforcement agencies and would never let the sacred sacrifices of our heroes to go in vain.
