LAHORE - Senior journalist of daily Nawa-i-Waqt Yunas Butt passed away on Thursday after brief illness.

He was admitted to Punjab Institute of Cardiology two days ago where he expired on Thursday. He survived by a widow and 9 children.

He was laid to rest at the Journalists Colony graveyard. A large number of journalists including Nawa-i-Deputy Editor Saeed Aasi, Chief News Editor Dilawar Chaudhary, Chief Reporter Khawaja Farrukh Saeed, District Incharge Ashfaq Bhatti, politicians and people from all different walks of life attended his funeral prayer.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the demise of Yunas Butt. Lahore Press Club President and Secretary have also condoled the death of senior journalist Yunas Butt.

He worked as acting Resident Editor for Nawa-i-Waqt Multan office. Later, he was working as Shift Incharge in Lahore office.
