The government is planning to recover illegal arms and ammunition from the country to maintain law and order. Sources said provincial heads would soon be asked to get ready for crackdown on illegal arm holders and smugglers. According to the Home Department sources, the country has a huge quantity of illegal weapons. “Our enemies are cashing in on the Karachi killings and trying to weaken Pakistan,” the sources said, adding that owing to a series of bomb attacks, the former government could not monitor arms smuggling into the country but the regime was adopting all possible measures for prevention of arms smuggling and recovery of illegal weapons in the country. Before launching the drive, sources said, people would be appealed to step forward and identify elements with illegal arms or involved in arms smuggling. Heavy cash prizes will be given to officers who recover illegal arms and ammunition.–APP
