The District Co-Ordination Council of NGOs’ arranged a meeting here which was attended by representatives of 28 NGOs and chaired by Advocate Arslan Chattha here the other day.

They discussed the alarming situation illiteracy, poverty. corruption, bad governance and energy crisis in the country.

They said that no positive step had been taken by the government for the welfare of the masses so far. They said that all NGOs would work together for the welfare of the masses. They said that it was the need of the hour to make the country a real welfare state.

Addressing the participants, Arslan Chattha condemned the unannounced massive electricity loadshedding particularly during sehr and iftar.

He demanded the government to take practical steps and measures to address the power crisis, saying that people of the country were deprived of the basic utility of electricity.

He said that the massive power outages had affected industrial and business activities in the country and the business community had been shifting their business aboard.

He said that the rapid increase in power tariff was injustice with the masses and its will create anarchy in the country.
