The participants of a seminar held at the Punjab University Arabic Department, said the peace among the religions is the need of the hour. The seminar titled “Peace among the religions is a way to combine development” was organised by the Tanzeem Al Fajar Pakistan and the Christian Study Centre Rawalpindi, says a press release.

Arabic Department Chairperson Dr Khalid and Archiology Department Chairperson Dr Farzand Maseih chaired the meeting while Al Fajar’s regional head, president, a large numbers of the students and NGOs were also present on this occasion. Special Advisor to Punjab CM Abdullah Malik was the chief guest.

The chief guest said the religions give the message of peace and happiness comes through religion by negating the terrorism. The speakers said that Islam, including other religions, gives the message of brotherhood. No religion gives the message of violence, killing and terrorism while the non state actors are blaming the religion and using it adroitly, they remarked.

A training workshop was also conducted at the Lahore Cosmo Club under the cooperation of both the organisations on the topic of ‘harmony among the religions.’ Both the programmes received the printing and electronic media coverage where the participants were pleased to express their views positively and hoped that organising such programmes would have greater impact on the society, especially help promoting peace among the religions.
