The Sukheke police have arrested a butcher of Sukheke on the charge of supplying unhygienic beef for sale to Gujranwala.

According to police source, accused Sanaullah was bringing 280 kgs stale beef emanating foul smell to Gujranwala on a vehicle (LED-5772) and when he reached near Hafizabad-Sukheke Road near Chowki Sukheke, the police seized the beef and arrested the accused. The seized stuff was later destroyed into the Rakh Branch Canal. A case has been registered against the accused accordingly.

THEFT: There is no let-up in dacoity incidents in the area as another citizen was deprived of gold ornaments and cash worth Rs450,000.

Muhammad Bashir, an employee of Wapda and resident of Mohallah Buban Bukhari a congested locality of Hafizabad, said that he along with his family members was away from his house to attend an Iftar dinner. When he returned, he found that unidentified burglars have made off with eight tolas gold ornaments and cash.

GRANTS APPROVED: The District Benevolent Fund Board approved 196 cases of monthly grant, marriage grant and funeral grant of in-service, retired and dependants of deceased government employees and have decided to release fund of Rs2.1 million. Chairing the meeting, DCO Safeena Siddiq approved 27 cases of monthly grant, 87 case of marriage grant and 82 cases of funeral grant to the employees and their dependants.
