KARACHI - Five people were gunned down in separate incidents of violence here on Wednesday.

A dismembered body of an MQM activist was found from a house in Chisti Nagar, Orangi Town in the remits of Iqbal Market police station.

The body was found after people reported police about stink emitting from a house. The body was chopped into pieces and packed into a trunk. The victim was identified as Shakeel, 28, son of Jamil. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medicolegal formalities and later handed over to the heirs.

Police said that the house was owned by a Salamu, who they suspected, was involved in the brutal killing and had escaped. Initially, police apprehended suspect’s brother Waqar to probe the case.

Separately, a hawker was shot dead in the remits of Rizvia police station.

Police said that victim Abbas Hyder was riding a motorcycle when gunmen targeted him near Liaquat Chowk. He was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. Police suspect that the motive behind the killing was sectarian and handed over the body to the family after autopsy.

Elsewhere, armed riders gunned down a man within the remits of Gulistan-e-Jauhar police station.

Police said that victim Daniyal Mashi was standing at a puncture shop near Asharaful Madares when armed riders sprayed bullets. He sustained sever bullet wounds and died on the way to hospital.

Similarly, a man was targeted in Pir Bakhs Goth in Gulshan-e-Maymar Police precincts.Police said that victim Niaz Faizullah was going to court for hearing of a family dispute case when unidentified armed riders targeted him. Police handed over the body to family after autopsy.

Separately, the Nappier Police found a shot dead body in Jinnahbad area. The body was taken to Civil Hospital where doctors shifted it to morgue for identification after autopsy.
