KARACHI (PPI) - Naib Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Professor Ghafoor Ahmed Thursday appealed the people to participate in a 'public referendum' of the party and express their opinion on controversial Kerry-Lugar Bill. He further said that country could only get out of troubles when the American interference into its policies ends. He said the referendum, to be held on 23rd October, is the best way of knowing public opinion regarding the issue. Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi has formed 'referendum camps at more than 500 important locations of the city in order to facilitate public in casting their vote in the referendum against Kerry-Lugar bill, drone attacks and American interference in Pakistan policy matters. These campus are set at Karachi University, NED University, Civil Hospital, Jinnah Hospital, Press Club, City and Cantt station, Saddar, Clifton, Defence, FB Area, Gulshan-e-Iqbal and other places. JI has also got printed three million ballot papers for the referendum. Professor Ghafoor Ahmed, former City Nazim Naimatullah Khan, Amir JI Karachi Muhammad Hussain Mehanti and other leaders would also participate in the referendum. Furthermore, Pakistan Labor Federation, All Pakistan Small Trade and Cottage Industry, Islamic Lawyers Movement, Islamic Medical Association and other organizations have also announced to take part in the referendum.
