LAHORE Former Law Minister Babar Awan has blamed the Punjab government for making huge spending from the public exchequer on holding rallies instead of utilising these resources on controlling and curbing dengue virus. Talking to newsmen at the residence of PPP worker Akbar Khan here Saturday, Awan said that at least eight people on average are dying of dengue daily whereas Punjab government is spending money on holding public gatherings. He said Nawaz Sharif should have participates in the funeral prayers of the dengue victims instead of leaving for Turkey. Speaking on the student protests about Intermediate results, he expressed surprise over the kind of 'good governance in Punjab. that a large number of students are forced to come out on the roads.
