OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE At least two people were killed while another 13 wounded when a Lahore-bound train hit another stationary coach in Badami Bagh area on Thursday, rescue workers said. Police sources said that a Lahore-bound train was stopped near Sabzi Mandi after an accident when another train, coming from Peshawar, hit it from the rare side with a bang. As result, two people were killed while 13 others wounded most of them seriously. One of the deceased persons was later identified as Muhammad Javed, 22, while the identity of the other was yet to be ascertained. Rescue workers rushed to the spot soon after the accident and shifted the injured to local hospitals in critical condition. Further investigations were underway. In another accident, a four-year-old girl was killed when a truck ran over her in Shahdra area on Thursday. Police said that resident of Shahdra, Muhammad Rafique riding on a motorcycle, along with his wife and his daughter Aneeka was on his way home when suddenly, the girl fell down from the motorcycle at GT Road. A truck from the rare side ran over the girl, resulting in her on-the-spot death. The police have impounded the truck and are investigating.
