The recent rains in Karachi have come as a blessing in disguise for a city which was striving to become a much desired tourist destination for the western world for the last so many years. With almost all the city submerged in water, it's resemblance to the city of Venice (Italy) cannot be doubted anymore. Now one can have the opportunity to sail through the Karachi slums discovering its old history, art and culture on an old wooden traditional sailing boat. Indeed it will be a unique and exclusive experience for the tourists, thus bringing a new life to our dying (if not already dead) tourism industry. DR IRFAN ZAFAR, Islamabad, September 21.
