At least 18 persons including - two women and three of a same family - were killed in different incidents of violence and road mishaps during the past 24 hours.

In Jhang, six persons including a woman were killed in separate mishaps occurred. A man axed to death his father-in-law over a petty family issue. One Iqbal Shah, a resident of Mauza Klachi Shah situated in the limits of Ahmedpur Sial Police quarrelled with his wife a few days back. At which she settled with her parents. Iqbal Shah went to his in-laws to reconcile his wife where his father-in-law Sajid Shah exchanged harsh words with him. At which he flared up and attacked Sajid Shah with an axe, killing him on the spot. The Ahmedpur Sial Police arrested the alleged culprit and registered a case against him.

Reportedly, Yaqoob, a resident of Mauza Barkhur Dar on Jhang-Chiniot Road near Bhuwana, was building a wall in his home when suddenly it collapsed over him. Resultantly, he sustained critical wounds and breathed his last on the way to hospital.

In another incident, a man and his son were electrocuted. Ahmed, a resident of Bhuwana went to switch on water pump where suddenly he touched an electric wire and received severe electric shocks. His father Shahadat who was also there tried to save his son, but he also sustained electric shocks. Resultantly both the man and his son died on the spot. In another road accident, 20-year-old Muhammad Yousaf, a resident of Hasoo Bulail in the limits of 18-Hazari Police was going to Rodoo Sultan on a bike. When he reached near Royal Filling Station of Rodoo Sultan a speeding Faisalabad -bound bus hit him. Resultantly, he fell from his bike and died on the spot. The police have arrested the bus driver. Yet in another mishap which also happened near Rodoo Sultan, a woman was killed. As per details, son and wife of Nasir Puwar, resident of Sharif Abad were going back from Mahloana More to home on a bike. When suddenly wife of Nasir Puwar fell down from bike and sustained head injury. Resultantly, she succumbed to her injury on the way to hospital.

In Sargodha, unidentified assailants shot dead a teacher of government school. Sibqat Allah, a teacher of Government Boys Middle School, Chak 170, was on the back home from the school. Some unidentified accused intercepted him and fired indiscriminate gunshots, killing him instantly. The bereaved family said that they have no enmity with anyone. The police shifted the dead body to the hospital for post-mortem and registered a case against unidentified killers.

In a road accident, four boys were killed on Muzaffargarh Road in collusion between a motorcycle and trailer. The four youth, age between 14 to 18 years, were a riding some 7-km away from Khushab city on Muzaffargarh Road. Suddenly a trailer hit the motorbike and crushed all its four riders. The deceased were identified as Adnan Raza, Aamir, Babar and Shuban. The trailer driver managed to flee from the scene. The police handed over the bodies to the heirs after medico-legal process.

In Sahiwal, four persons died and three others sustained injuries in different accidents in the district. A woman died and his husband, - his two brothers - Bilal and Iqbal got wounds when two bikes collided head-on near Pul Sukh bypass, Chak 111/9L on Pakpattan Road.

The two motorcycles collided, leaving 40-year-old Naseem Bibi died while her husband Naseer Ahmed, Bilal and Iqbal sustained injuries.

In another incident on GT Road near bypass, the cleaner of a truck, identified as 25-year-old, Fiaz Ahmed, a resident of Jamrud fell from a truck and died.

A motorcyclist was killed when a truck hit him near bypass on Burewala-Chichawatni Road. Businessman Abdul Rauf of Chak 21/11L, riding the bike, died on the spot.

On railway road Sahiwal, an unidentified 12-year-old child was crushed a speeding car. He was rushed to hospital where he breathed his last.

In KOTLI (AJK), three of same family died and a minor girl injured when a car plunged in a gorge on Tuesday.

Sources said that the accident took place near Supply Bazaar of District Kotli in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) when a private car skidded off the road due to slippery caused by rain and fell into a deep ravine.

Resultantly, three members of same family died while a young girl sustained wounds. The local people on self-help basis pulled up the bodies and injured from the ravine and shifted to hospital for medico-legal formalities.
