LAHORE - Punjab Assembly Opposition Leader Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed Tuesday demanded the chief minister to bring local government audit reports from 2001 to 2014 in the house to expose misappropriations of funds of Rs 200 billion.

Addressing a press conference at Punjab Assembly cafeteria, Mehmood alleged misappropriation of funds of Rs 200 billion were made in the local governments from 2001 to 2014. The chief minister should bring the audit reports in the house to uncover the corruption but he was avoiding bringing the reports.

He added he had already requested to the Chief Minister, Governor, Auditor General and Finance Department Punjab for the audit reports of 2001 up to 2014.

Mehmood who is also PTI senior leader said his party has decided to bring a privilege motion on the matter in the house.

Memood said he knew Musharraf’s team ruled the country from 2001 to 2007 but he he made the demand from the incumbent Chief Minister because 80 percent leaders of the ruling party belongs to Musharraf’s team.

He claimed Punjab Audit and Finance Departments had sent requests to the Chief Minister for bringing the said audit reports in the house.
