LANDIKOTAL - Two minor boys were killed and four others of a family injured when militants hit several villages and an army garrison with mortar shells on Saturday evening, sources said. As per details, the militants started firing mortar shells from their hideouts located in nearby mountains at 6:00pm and continued it for two hours. One of the fired mortar shell hit a house of an Afghan national Yar Gul in Aurang village of Landikotal Tehsil and resultantly killed two boys identified as Bilal and Pervaiz on the spot. The killed boys were 10 years and 8 years old, respectively. Another mortar shell hit a house of Sayed-ul-Haq, again an Afghan national, and injured four persons of his family, including his wife, his two daughters and a son. The injured persons were rushed to a nearby hospital. According to the hospital sources, all the injured persons were out danger. Some other mortar shells also landed at Gagra, Lakhkar and Shahee kalay villages but no loss of life has been reported. Meanwhile, Frontier Constabulary sources said that a mortar shell also hit Army Garrison in Landikotal however no casualty took place as a result of the incident. Immediately after the attacks, the security forces targeted militants suspected hideouts in retaliation, but no loss of life has been reported so far.
