RAWALPINDI Despite the tall claims of City District Government Rawalpindi (CDGR) high ups for establishing model or Ramazan sasta bazaars in the district, the Rawalpindis only Model Sasta Bazaar Liaquat Bagh badly failed to attract the people apparently due to the ongoing sale of rotten vegetables and fruit in the bazaar. All the instructions and directions of Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Mian Shehbaz Sharif that were nothing than to provide quality food items to the people, have been thrown into the dustbin by the undisciplined district administration including its head District Coordination Officer (DCO) Saqib Zafar. Moreover, Special Price Magistrates (SPMs) and officials of District Health Department, who are responsible to check prices and quality of food items, have also taking long nap, not paying visits to the Ramazan sasta bazaars to listen the complaints of the consumers. During a visit paid by this scribe two hours before Iftari on Tuesday, the whole Model Sasta Bazaar was presenting a deserted look which clearly indicates that sensible people do not like to buy putrid vegetables and fruits rather go to Sabzi Mandi Raja Bazaar to purchase best quality vegetables and fruit, no matter its price is a little bit high than the items being sold in the model sasta bazaar. Muhammad Saliq, a customer, said that the shopkeepers were selling low quality vegetables and fruit on high prices. He said that he did not go Raja Bazaar for shopping as he was told by somebody that he could best buy quality fruit on cheaper rate from the Model Sasta Bazaar, Liaquat Bagh.
